The House That Jack Built

Promoting a film about a serial killer isn’t complicated. The trick is to resist the temptation to make it look like one. For The House That Jack Built, we built a poster series that worked more like a trap. The result was calm on the surface, violent underneath. Beauty used as bait.

The logotype shown here is our original design. Just before printing, Lars von Trier decided to replace it with his own. That’s his prerogative — and in some ways, it fits the project. A film about a man who can’t resist taking over. Still, we stand by ours.
