Magtens Voksmuseum

The Wax Museum of Power (Magtens Voksmuseum) was an exhibition created by the independent media outlet Frihedsbrevet. Here, visitors met life-size wax figures of the ten civil servants criticized in the Mink Commission report. From the powerful – like Barbara Bertelsen, Head of Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Johan Legarth, Head of Department at the Ministry of Justice – to those whose names had never reached the headlines. People like Birgitte Buch and Hanne Larsen. This was the public’s chance to look ten of the most influential officials in the eye.

Each wax figure is accompanied by a plaque. On it, you’ll find their professional résumé. Beneath that, an excerpt from the Mink Commission’s criticism. Then comes a summary of the consequences faced by the individual in question. Finally, a reminder of the seven core duties that bind civil servants to the democratic contract they are meant to uphold. Photo: Thomas Lekfeldt/Ritzau Scanpix
